Corn Failure
As some of you know corn is my favorite thing to grow, however this year, I have failed! My corn is maybe 3 feet tall!!! It already has the tops that are used for pollinating. I must not have enough nutrients in the ground for them. I guess, I am going to wait and see what happens and luckily it is earlier enough in the year that I can till the ground, add some nutrients and start again. Here are some pictures of my failures, I need to find the magazine I ordered and see what it says about height for the stalks.

I am not sure why they are not taller. Our corn last year was about 6 feet tall. Sadly I am not holding my breath for them this year. They are still only as tall as when we planted them a few weeks ago :(
ReplyDeleteI don't grow corn, but last year I had some because a critter buried some corn kernels from the birdseed! See feeding birds can be beneficial..LOL!
ReplyDeleteP.S. I like your garden harvest update!!
ReplyDeleteI dont know what is wrong with my corn either! UGH! We will see.
ReplyDeleteThanks about the garden harvest update. I really want to keep track and then calculate what I spent vs what I grew. I am sure I will be in negative but some day I would like it to be more saved then spent! hahahaha We will see!
