Thursday afternoon we went to the Arch. We had great fun and even went up to the top! I learned all about why the Arch was built and why St. Louis is called the Gateway to the West. We live in such a cool city! There is so much to learn here, I can't wait to experience it all! The weather was beautiful and the sun shone all day, in fact the news said it was 87 degrees! The hottest day yet!
Here is Anthony and I standing in the Mississippi River. What an amazing river! I can't even imagine what it was like when Lewis and Clark where here! This river stretches the length of the United States and spans anywhere from 2 feet to 2 miles in width. Truly amazing!
Me in the Mississippi and straight across the river is Illnois. The river was freezing by the way. And yes, I do have VERY white legs! I think tanning is in my future!
The beautiful Arch from the Mississippi River, we took a Riverboat cruise after going up in the Arch. It was great fun!
Ok, so this is what you ride up in to the top of the Arch and yes, you can fit 5 PEOPLE in! They are REALLY scary little 'trams.'
Anthony and I at the top of the Arch. It reminded me of being at the top of the Statue of Liberty. Kind of stuffy, hot and lots of people and crazy little children. It was fun anyway.
Busch Stadium view from the top of the Arch. They actually had a game that day too! Anthony promises me that we will go to a game when the Mariners come to town.
Yes Ma'am I was 630 feet in the air!
The beautiful Arch!
This is the view of the Arch from the Jefferson Memorial National Park. The park is beautiful we walked from the parking garage through the park to the Arch. St. Louis is truly a beautiful city!
We had a great time and enjoyed being out in the sun. I told Anthony that I wanted to bring Kirby and Emma down to the river and let them swim in the Great Mississippi River!!! How many dogs can say they have swam in such an epic river!
You do live in a cool city! I will expect to see the sites when we come in October!
